» Along
with Mrs. Karen Richards, from December to April, I'm co-coach of the
middle school Quiz Bowl team in the Kearsley district. We're usually
pretty successful. During the season, I run two one-hour practices a
week, along with moderating twenty matches between schools at various
meets.
PlayCafe

» I
hosted two-hour shows on PlayCafe.com, the first online game show
network. I hosted remotely in my Flint studio via a streaming video
broadcast. I hosted over 35 hours of live internet games. I performed
these tasks on a web camera in a studio set up in my home, and I got
favorable feedback from the viewers each time.

» I
worked as a trivia writer, a question-triggering production assistant
and an operations manager at PlayCafe.com, the first online game show
network. I wrote over 1,200 trivia questions for this position, along
with distributing prizes, updating live leaderboards online and
providing live support in the chat rooms. I have learned so much about
the game show industry, the video producing industry and the
internet/technical aspects through this job.

» I
wrote trivia for game show host and comedian J. Keith van Straaten's
game show pilot presentation, "The Waiting Game". I also wrote material
and assisted in design of visuals for his live game show concept "Word
1", which had a three-day test run live in Los Angeles.

» This
is a board sponsored by Genesee County used to discuss opportunities
for youth in the area. We, as members, volunteered when the time arose
as well.

» I volunteered all day at the Flint Special Olympics. This was a unique eye-opening and heart-warming experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Armstrong Middle School

» I assisted, pro bono, as the coach/moderator for the Armstrong Middle School Quiz Bowl team. It is now a paid position.
» As
part of their GSN Live "Road Trip", the Game Show Network traveled to
the homes of some of the bigger winners on the show and I was one of
the lucky ones chosen! I was the only one on the trip to host a segment
- We played a game where a home viewer who called in won an awesome
prize. Impressed by my performance, on-air host Heidi Bohay remarked,
"Chad should come down here and be on GSN Live."
» I
was a semi-finalist in GSN's "Play Every Day" game show host
competition in Detroit. I hosted a live game in front of an audience
with real contenders to audition for a guest spot on the "GSN Live"
program.
» Passed
multiple tests and auditions to appear on the CBS game show "Million
Dollar Password", hosted by Regis Philbin. I won $25,000 on the
program. This showcases my intellectual skills and ability to convey
the English language in a public forum.
» Part
of the Genesee County Youth Advisory Board, where we worked to better
serve the youth of Flint. As part of this organization, I worked in
soup kitchens, shelters, participated in a "drive-by" raking program
and participated in the Buick Open golf tournament.
» I
was part of Kearsley High School's television program, K-NEWS. The
highlight of my time there includes the two very successful and popular
pieces produced, edited and hosted by me based on the television
program "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"
» I
periodically participated in events in the Foreign Language Club. It
helped me get a wide range of views and experiences from the rest of
the world.
» I
was in quiz bowl for seven years of my academic career; Achieved first
place in tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade. This is a fun activity that
showcases my intellectual skills in a public forum.
» I
created a parody music CD and distributed it in May 2005 along with
another one in April 2006. It was a parody of pop albums, because I
cannot sing. This helped me get some exposure and helped me start some
sort of a "public life."
» I have participated in high school acting classes. I feel acting skills are a good skill to have.
» Passed
multiple tests and won second place on a special week of the TV quiz
show "Jeopardy!" Like Quiz Bowl, this showcases my intellectual skills
in a public forum.
